These features allow the system to deliver a clear, secure picture, and it’s submersible for decontamination purposes." Kevin Young is a principal investigator at the Idaho National Laboratory and developer of the Hazmat Cam technology. According to the INL website, "this system is also being used to support Operation Iraqi Freedom".

View Systems Homeland Security Products Manager, Dave Johansen states, "This $246,000 order is indicative of the quantity and size of orders placed. The market for our VFR product is significant and will expand into other first responder use. The Department of Defense recently announced an increase of WMD Civil Support Teams. The VFR has undergone some technical changes which build on it’s already stellar performance. New for 2006 are; increased battery life, increased transmission distance and soon to be released, a multi-discipline form factor which will put the VFR into several additional markets".
